Project Overview
KGBUILD required a robust online presence to showcase their multi-million dollar commercial roofing and construction capabilities. The goal was to build a site that feels as solid, structured, and modern as the buildings they construct.
The Challenge
The construction industry is notorious for slow, clunky WordPress sites. The challenge was to create an image-heavy portfolio site displaying 4K architectural photography without sacrificing Core Web Vitals or mobile performance.
The Approach
I discarded heavy client-side frameworks and built the site using Astro's Island Architecture. This resulted in zero JavaScript shipped to the client by default. Interactive elements like the project gallery and contact forms were hydrated only when necessary using React.
